The Law Offices of Judy A. Leecraft, P.C.

I used Judy for my modification of child support and she was one of the most down to earth, professional people that I have ever had the pleasure of knowing and working with. Her staff is so caring and helpful. They will treat you as a person, not a number. She will fight until the very end for you and your legal rights!

I highly recommend Judy Leecraft and her staff. I was initially represented by another attorney when I met Judy and her staff in the courtroom during proceedings in another case. I was so impressed that I switched attorneys...hiring Judy to represent me. It was the best decision I ever made. Judy has exceptional listening skills, she is non-judgmental, empathetic, and compassionate. Judy and her staff continue to take time to answer my questions and concerns even though my case has been finalized. I had some unique circumstances in my custody and visitation case and Judy was able to help me explore all my options. She is extremely knowledgeable, yet easy to talk to. I always received prompt responses to emails, faxes, and phone calls. I look forward to continuing my relationship with Judy and her staff and would recommend them to anyone who needs divorce or family law representation. She is the best!

Unfortunately I had to go through a horrible divorce and custody battle that I thought was a lost cause. I had previously retained another attorney and the work that was done on my case was minimal at best. Going through this legal process is scary and never once did I question this firms loyalty to my case and myself and kids. Having a board certified attorney with so much experience and knowledge is something that makes it easier to rest each night with confidence.

My daughter's little girl had been taken to El Paso by the father and was living there with her father's mother and step-father.  The father refused to bring our granddaughter back home.  We went to several attorneys who said we should hire an El Paso attorney and that we had little to no chance of getting our little granddaughter back here in Austin.  We saw Judy's website and called her office, got in the same day to see her, and Judy went to work to get custody.  Judy flew to El Paso twice, and, to make a long story short, she won everything for us.  When I look at my granddaughter now, I am forever grateful to Judy and her staff.  They worked so hard it was almost like it was a personal thing.  I would recommend Judy Leecraft to anyone who has a child custody case - even a grandparents' case.  Our granddaughter is living with her mother here in Austin now, and we see her almost every day.

My husband threatened to take away my children, and he told me he would fight for every penny we had.  I hired Judy, and we went to mediation.  Judy was tenacious, and I wound up with so much more than I thought I would.  I kept total custody of my children and got more than half of the property.  My husband was furious and tried to undo the whole thing, which, because of Judy, he was unable to do.  Hire Judy for your divorce - you won't be sorry.  Also, Judy's paralegal Jill is so easy to talk to.  I was so nervous that my husband would win, and Jill "talked me off the ledge" lots of times.

A LETTER FROM FORREST S. TO OTHER FIREFIGHTERS/PARAMEDICS:

My name is Forrest S.  I am a firefighter/paramedic and work for the Mesa (Arizona) Fire Department just outside Phoenix, Arizona.  I typically do not reach out to advertise or endorse businesses I come in contact unless I run into the exceptional customer service, compassion, and outright great work I experienced from folks in your backyard.  Figures show we as firefighters have a high frequency of divorce; like many of my brothers and sisters in your department, I have faced the rigors of fighting for my parental rights as a father and for the ability to maintain my financial security.  My case became even more complicated when my ex-wife and 9-year old daughter relocated to Austin.  Getting my rights enforced from Arizona proved both gut-wrenching and emotionally, financially, and logistically challenging.

Through the stroke of luck and blessings from God I came in contact with Judy Leecraft and Joe Newberry at Leecraftlaw.com.  At the risk of sounding like a mid-afternoon commercial, the folks worked through my case with a tenacity and passion I have never see the likes of in the legal profession.

Typically, trustworthy attorneys seem hard to come by when you are dealing with emotionally complex issues.  In short, I am writing to give this nugget of information and heartfelt endorcement to any and all of my brothers and sisters in Local ___ and affiliated organizations dealing with family law issues to contact Joe and Judy with Leecraftlaw.  They could also be reached at 512-320-8200.

In keeping up with the tradition of us getting the word out about business "hook-ups," I felt it necessary to let you guys in on these extremely helpful and competent attorneys.

 LETTER FROM PAULINE T.

     To Judy and Associates:

I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate all you did for me during my recent divorce.  You were compassionate, supportive, and understanding when I so much needed the human element as much as I needed your legal expertise.  As joyous and uplifting is the day of the wedding, proportionate is the pain and devastation of a divorce, and after thirty-six years of marriage, this divorce was particularly painful for me.

However, it is finally over, and my sister and I have moved back into our beautiful home in Lakeway.  I'm beginning to feel more comfortable with my new name.  I'm looking forward to filling our home with joy, laughter, and lots of love.

Thank you Judy, Joe, Jill and all the associates that helped start me on a path to my new life.

     Kindest regards,

     Pauline T.

Judy will always be remembered by my family and me.  She won custody of my two boys in Temporary Orders away from their mother, who was acting irresponsibly, but who had told me I would not get custody and she was moving to Houston with the children.  I still have the boys and it has been seven years ago that we went to court.  You can't go wrong if you have Judy Leecraft as your lawyer.  I would recommend her to anyone.

I got my two kids for summer vacation, and they had marks on their backs from being hit with a belt by their mother.  Judy took us to court and won custody for me, even though the kids lived in Georgia.  She took them away from another state!  And my ex had to pay me child support!  My children are safe, and I owe it to Judy's ability to go the extra mile.  I don't know what she did exactly, legally, but she was able to somehow manipulate the courts so she got my children home with me.  I'll never know how she did it, because we had talked to three attorneys before we talked to Judy, and they all told us the same thing - that it couldn't be done.  Judy is the best.

Judy took my case before my daughter was  born.  I had an extremely complicated child custody case, where my wife wouldn't even let me have our child for a few hours without supervision, even though I had done nothing to deserve that.  We had a long trial against a really good trial attorney from Austin, and the Judge let me have parenting time with my daughter without supervision for overnights and weekends, which was just what I wanted.  It took a long time, but Judy took the time to explain everything, so I understood the process, even though she said it was complicated.

Judy is the best, and I refer clients to her all the time.  My ex-boyfriend and I were not married, and we have a son.  My son's father threatened me that he was going to get custody and move to Nebraska.  He refused to pay child support.  He didn't even visit our son regularly.  I was terrified.  Judy got me custody, got child support, and was able to make my son's father pay her fees on top of all the other things she did.  I still send her emails telling her about my son and how well he is doing.  Judy is such a good family lawyer.

I got divorced from my husband over twenty-five years ago in Louisiana.  We owned a house in Austin at the time.  I have lived in this house for over twenty-five years now, and my husband hired an Austin attorney to try to make me sell my house and give him half of the money.  I am in my seventies now, and disabled.  I had interviewed a few attorneys, then hired one, who told me there was no way I would be able to keep my house, that I would have to sell it and give my ex half the profits because the divorce decree in Louisiana wasn't clear.  I was so frustrated I cried all the time.  I found Judy, who took me to trial, which none of the other attorneys said they would do.  Not only did she take me to trial, but she won!  I got the deed to my house and I didn't have to sell it.  I started crying in the courtroom when the Judge gave her Order and it was so hard to keep from yelling out loud I was so happy.  I am so happy with Judy.  She literally saved my house and my way of life.

My ex wife got the Attorney General to believe I owed about $30,000 in back child support.  I don't know how Judy did it, but she got the Attorney General to drop the whole case.
